Astro boy needs a fabulous home. Fully vetted, neutered male, approx 45lbs. He needs a home where he can be the sidekick in all things. Want to watch a movie? He is your pup. Want to take a car ride, let's go. Game of fetch? He is great at it. Are you sad and need to be comforted, he will lay on you and lick you til you either feel better or feel like you need a shower.
Astro is not great with a lot of dogs. Some dogs including tiny dogs (5lb chihuahuas are his friend) he is fine with. I would not suggest dominant males.
Astros favorite things in life are his humans and his ball. Really any ball will do but he adores the big ones he can fling around and play soccer with. Astro is also not good around chickens or cats. He knows better and will ignore them but IF they run he cannot contain himself.
He needs a confident owner that let's him know that everything is OK and that HE (astro) doesn't need to be in charge. That he can just dog. He is great with kids as well.
This isn't a dog that you take around a bunch of people, parties or to the dog park but if you are looking for a companion at home, or to take a hike or go camping he may be the one.
He is crate trained and really just overall trained to a T. He is welcome to stay with us for the rest of his life but the life of crating and rotating or staying in a pen just isn't my idea of a fabulous life. (He currently despises another 90lb resident that is 2x his size and we don't need anymore fights). (To be fair they despise eachother but get along with all the other dogs. Even animals have certain others they do not like.)
Please share his story. He deserves a fabulous rest of his life, not just a mediocre one.
If you are interested in meeting and possibly adopting this fabulous pet, please fill out the online adoption application at http://foranimals2002.com
PLEASE NOTE: we do not have a shelter where you can come to view our available dogs. All of our dogs are in foster homes. You must complete an application and references will be checked by an Adoption Screener before you can meet the dog.
